My Teaching Materials, Student Work, and Teaching Philosophy

K-12 and Higher Education

My goal is to provide a creative and safe environment that encourages exploration and growth. I specialize in teaching interior architecture fundamentals (construction documents and details) with a focus on architectural technology. The worst thing that can happen as a designer is having a client not understand your vision, so I try to introduce my students to different ways of representing a design so that doesn’t happen. I believe that every element that you design should be shown in multiple ways, either through a plan, elevation, rendering, video walkthrough, etc.

In addition to teaching interior architecture skills, I try to be the best mentor I can for all the students. I understand firsthand how frustrating it can be to have a simple unanswered question hold you up, so I have an open-door policy that encourages all questions and concerns and I enjoy sitting and working through designs with my students.

Adjunct Professor at the University of Massachusetts - Dartmouth

Fall 2018 - Present

I specialize in teaching interior architecture industry-applicable skills, architectural modeling software, and other forms of three-dimensional graphic representation. As a former interior architecture student, I enjoy mentoring the next generation of designers and try to develop a camaraderie with my students so they trust me to lead them on a path to success.

Adjunct Professor at the Boston Architectural College

Spring 2016 - Spring 2017

At the BAC, I asked the Dean if I could teach the class I wish I was able to take when I was a student there. I created the class “Interior Architecture Fundamentals”  and filled it with topics that I had learned by working that I wish I had known prior to graduating.
